Memory of a Dream
Sometimes the past things disappear in a fog that embraces them and turns them into dreams.
"Faultline / Timeline" was an installation that I created in 2015 in Venice in the Palazzo Bembo at the Rialto Bridge. The walls were covered with pictures of New York and a montage of a hundred of my cell phone pictures. A fault line ran across the room and threatened to devour it. The HeartMachine ran and ran on three monitors in the middle of the room ...
The HeartMachine is the only thing that still runs and lives today.
There was also a heaven or hell gate and huge pictures hung in the room and covered images hung behind it as if they were forbidden fantasies floating in the thought space.
I think it is possible to fall in love with a dream - especially when the light gradually turns off and you have nothing left but the memories of dreams.
